Orders are not arriving or not printing: what to check

Check the printer app status, the API key, the order status and your printers.

Quick answer: First check the Nomni Ordering printer app on your device. It must show STATUS READY. PAUSED means you paused it (tap START PROCESSING), and WAITING… means it has no connection. Then, in the console, check Location Settings > Printing Settings: the store must have the right API key. Finally open Orders: an order marked Printed reached the printer; Submitted means it did not.

This article is for the Nomni Ordering console. Your console address ends in /console, for example yourstore.orderup.com.au/console.

1. Check the printer app status

The status shows on the main screen of the Nomni Ordering printer app.

Status

What it means

READY

Connected and receiving orders.

PAUSED

Paused on this device: it stops receiving orders. Tap START PROCESSING to start again.

WAITING…

Not connected. Check the device’s WiFi or mobile data.

When you tap PAUSE PROCESSING the app warns: "By pausing your device, you will stop receiving orders!". The app also has an Internet Connection Check link ("Check Your Internet Connection").

2. Check the API key in Printing Settings

  1. In the console, choose your store in the location selector at the top (not All Locations/Global).

  2. Go to Location Settings > Printing Settings.

  3. Check API key is set (not "Please select a key"). It must be the key the printer device uses.

  4. Check Automatically Confirm Orders (YES/NO) is set the way you want.

  5. Click Save & Exit.

The page notes: "Please Note: You can add stores to the same API Key if you want to print multiple stores from one printer."

3. Check the order status

  1. Click Orders.

  2. Look at the Printed column. Printed (green) means the order reached your printer. Submitted (orange) means it has not printed yet.

  3. Click View Order to see the status in the order: Printed or Received.

If the order shows Printed but you have no docket, check the printer’s paper and connection. If it shows Submitted, go back to steps 1 and 2.

4. If you use network printers

If orders also print to network printers, open Network Printers in the console. Check each printer’s Status, its Printer Ip for your store, and No Of Copies. If the printer app can’t reach one, it shows "Unable to print to:" with the printer IP and "Please check the printer connection."
