Quick answer: On the Nomni Ordering printer, STATUS READY means it is receiving orders and STATUS PAUSED means it is not. Tap PAUSE PROCESSING to stop new orders (you will see By pausing your device, you will stop receiving orders!). Change PICKUP TIME or DELIVERY TIME between 5 minutes and 24 hours, and send the customer an SMS from the order.
This guide is for the Nomni Ordering Android printer app (shown as the OrderUp app on the device). It is not a Nomni POS printer.
Check the printer is receiving orders
Look at the status on the printer screen.
STATUS READY: the printer is online and receiving orders.
STATUS PAUSED: the printer is paused and you will not receive orders until you resume it.
Pause and resume
Tap PAUSE PROCESSING.
Read the message By pausing your device, you will stop receiving orders! Are you sure you want to pause the device? and confirm.
To start receiving orders again, tap START PROCESSING. The status goes back to READY.
Change prep times
Find PICKUP TIME or DELIVERY TIME on the main screen.
Use the controls next to it to increase or decrease the time.
The time can't go below 5 minutes (You are unable to set the prep time to anything less than 5 min) or above 24 hours.
Send an SMS to the customer
Open the order.
Tap the SMS button.
You will see SMS sent. If you see SMS Failed! Please try again later or Invalid number, call the customer instead.
The default messages are, for example, "Order #123 from Your Store is now ready for pickup" and "Order #123 from Your Store is now being sent out for delivery".
If something goes wrong
Orders aren't arriving: see "Online Ordering at this Location is Currently Offline".
A new version is available: if you see A new version of the OrderUp App is available., tap download so the latest version installs.
Printer settings tabs
On the Nomni Ordering printer, the settings have three tabs: GENERAL, ADVANCED and PRINTER CONFIG. Leave the ADVANCED tab as Nomni set it up unless support asks you to change it.
