Near Field Communication (NFC) technology allows customers to make secure transactions and connect electronic devices with a TAP. NFC transmissions are short range (from a touch to a few centimeters) and require the devices to be in close proximity.
How do I use NFC on my Android?Activating NFC
On your Android device, tap on “Settings.”
Select “Connected devices.”
Select “Connection preferences.”
You should see “NFC” and “Android Beam” options.
Turn both of them on.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have NFC, but only for payments. The iPhones 7, 8 and X also have NFC for payments but additionally, with iOS 11 and an NFC App, they can read NFC tags. The latest iPhone XS, XS Max and XR have NFC for payments and can read NFC tags with or without an additional App.
What the venue sets up
NFC tags use the same link as table QR codes (store, method and table number). Set up Dine In and the optional welcome pop-up (NFC Redirect Show Welcome Message, Modal Title, Modal Message) in Location Settings > Dine In. See "Table Ordering QR codes" for the full steps.
